Laser vs. Drill |

How does the laser work?
We are able to use the laser for many, but not all, fillings. The laser works by emitting a precise, specialized beam of light that gently targets and destroys tooth decay. Decay is softer and has a higher water content than healthy tooth structure. The laser is designed to target the decay and leave the healthy part of the tooth.
Does the laser cost more?
No. We have one fee for each type and size of filling, whether we use the laser or drill.
Does it hurt?
Most people don't need an anesthetic with the laser.

If numbing is necessary, we use The Wand®, which delivers the anesthetic with computer control. It's the most gentle way to deliver anesthesia.
